If ABC ever got into the live musical business like NBC and fix the first musical they should do is the lion king it's timeless, great message, great music, and grear story. They should stick with the Broadway costumes and set. Who would you cast in it if it were to happen.

The audience could reach out to another level, but I think it would take away the real Broadway vibe though. I believe they should make another tour like a concert tour.
Shows like Phantom have released official performance videos and it has not hurt their attendance at all. I know that's been an argument against pro-shot releases for ages, but it really doesn't seem to affect the original productions at all, especially if they're long-running and well known.
