    A Riddle

What is it that has no weight, can be seen by the naked eye and if you put it in the barrol it'll make the barrol lighter?

Here's one a friend told me back in school:

A man is laying dead in the middle of a green player's field. He is surrounded by fifty-three bicycles. Why did he die?

    And another;

A man is born in 1972 and dies in 1952 at the age of 25.

Obviously, the man in question is Marty McFly. He took another trip in the DeLorean at 25 years old, but when he reappeared, he must have crashed into something

I was left to my own devices. Many days fell away with nothing to show. And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love. Great clouds roll over the hills, bringing darkness from above. We were caught up and lost in all of our vices. Oh where do we begin; the rubble or our sins? But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing's changed at all?

Those Poker games can get messy when it gets heated. Our friend tried to cheat the wrong opponent. a "green player's field" refers to a felt poker table, and there are 53 cards in a set of Bicycle playing cards... if you include the cheater's extra ace.

Hmm the only solution I can think of is that 1972 and 1952 aren't referring to years, but rather places, like hotel room numbers or something. Still, I'm not sure if that's even close to the real answer

^I'll give you a hint: It's a double meaning riddle.

Brilliant! I didn't know the second meaning. Thanks for clearing this one up , Feral!

And great job on the other riddle too, Leorgathar!
It didn't occur to me that they were room numbers. *lol*

Thank you for those nice riddles, Nalas!

I was suspicious about 53 bicycle, I should have known about the playing cards brand.

Guess it's my turn to stump you guys. This is one I made up when I was little.

    ---

A man is driving his black car down an empty lonely wooded road in the middle of nowhere, when he comes across a big black dog in the middle of the road. There were no street lights/lamps on this road, the man did not have his headlights on, the moon was not out, and there was no houses or other cars anywhere around. How was the driver able to see the dog in time to stop?

I'll guess that the man and dog are both made of dark matter, which can pass through itself, and thus they never truly "hit" each other. But then, you did say you made up the riddle when you were little ...

^ That a very good answer

But let's see... there's no light source or whatsoever around, so I assume there's no light that can be reflected by the dog's eyes. I think that both the dog and the car being black is key here, so I first thought that they might actually be sign posts or something (figures are usually black on those), but that still doesn't make much sense, I guess xP

Oh wow! you're right! nowhere in that riddle does it say that it happened at night time. All the mentions of black, lights out and no moon do deviate the reader's mental image of the scene. Very clever Feral xD

Since it was dark, it just probably a dream or a nightmare for the driver.
